The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of online buyers. It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The company's reproductions also include old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, offered as decor or gifts.
