Snapshots of the Past Tule Lake Wall Art L sku-13276752264

This 16" x 20" historic print shows people getting groceries at the cooperative store at Tule Lake segregation center in Newell, California. It is Black Wall Art in size L from Snapshots of the Past (sku-13276752264; UPC 466098817676). The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives as home decor, using fine-art and archival papers.

Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet customers.

The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

Other prints offered include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The retro-style posters can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts.
