No rating yet(0 ratings)This Black, size L Wall Art from Snapshots of the Past is a 16 x 20 historic print of the Treasury Department's National Bank Redemption Agency paying tellers cage. SKU: sku-13273571894. UPC: 461002344439. The company reproduces archival maps, photos and prints, including images from the Library of Congress, as home decor.
Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.
Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.
The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations. Available subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The retro-style prints can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts.
