Lithography was invented in 1796; a Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history. The company's broader print range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
