Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art Print sku-13288458496

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13288458496 and UPC 464163260938, is a Black, size L, 16" x 20" reproduction of a half-length portrait showing Thurgood Marshall and Spottswood W. Robinson III facing each other in Washington, D.C., where they went to ask the Supreme Court to end school segregation.

The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and uses archival paper and pigmented inks for its reproductions. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

Other prints in the range include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. They can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
