Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13276958839 Print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, Black, SKU sku-13276958839, UPC 463411579662: This 16" x 20" historical print depicts Thomas Harrison Montgomery, a late professor of zoology at the University of Pennsylvania. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers; it was also selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections of American cultural history. These reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of cities, suitable for display at home or work or as gifts.
