No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art, size L, is a 16" x 20" reproduction of a photograph of students in an artillery class at the Imperial School of Engineering, taken by the school's photograph studio. The company, founded in 2001, reproduces historical images from the Library of Congress on archival paper with pigmented inks.
It was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints; its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography was invented in 1796, making inexpensive mass production of prints possible.
The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural history. The company's reproductions also include historical maps, posters and aerial views. SKU sku-13288620339; UPC 466784583663.
