The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions with archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

It cites over 200 bookstores and other retailers among its buyers, along with tens of thousands of online customers, and says it was selected as a vendor for a 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural heritage.

The company's examples of other prints include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. It suggests retro-style posters for homes, studies, workplaces and gifts.
