The company, founded in 2001, was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. The reproductions draw on historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library's American Memory pilot began in 1989 and laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural history. The prints use fine-art and archival papers with pigmented inks; archival prints are intended to last for generations.

The range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
