Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Black sku-13243151654

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art sku-13243151654, UPC 469531105972, is a Black, size L reproduction print measuring 16 x 20 inches. Its subject is the sea kiosk of the imperial seashore palace Beylerbeyi, credited in the title to Lieutenant Colonel of the General Staff Ali Riza Bey.

Snapshots of the Past restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for use as home decor. Founded in 2001, the company says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last a lifetime and be passed down. The company's range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, as well as early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

Its retro-style posters can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
