Snapshots of the Past Pioneer Posters L sku-13272918192

The Pioneer - 2 is a 16" x 20" print from Snapshots of the Past. These Black, size L Posters are listed as sku-13272918192, UPC 467243520588. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives for home decor. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced posters inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper and pigmented inks, materials intended to let prints last for generations.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and retro-style prints for a home, study or workplace.
