The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives as reproductions. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. The source also discusses lithography, invented in 1796, as a method that made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The company's range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, offered for display at home or work and as gifts.
