No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L and color Black, reproduces the historic print titled "The coon party crossing Cayuga Bridge Novr. 1844. Or the effects of Cassius M. Clay's political tour to western N. York" at 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photographs, and prints from Library of Congress archives for home decor.
Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.
The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections documenting American cultural heritage. These reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.
The collection also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco for display or gifts. SKU sku-13243364588; UPC 464425101832.
