Snapshots of the Past sku-13234400067 Wall Art L Print

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print depicts T. Roosevelt speaking in Asheville and measures 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives for reproduction on fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks; these prints are intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The range also includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of cities for display at home or work or as gifts. Catalog color: Black; size: L. UPC: 462416755422.
