Snapshots of the Past Derby Wall Art L sku-13283106803

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13283106803, is a Black, size L historic print of the start of the 1936 Kentucky Derby, measuring 16 x 20 inches. UPC 461877850196. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that work laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural history.
