Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13297762566

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art in size L, sku-13297762566, UPC 468835959199, includes a 16" x 20" historic print titled "Stag looking for its mate." The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of poster prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995. The program digitizes selected Library collections concerning the complex history of American cultural heritage. The reproduction prints use fine-art and archival paper from respected brands.

Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down. Other subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Retro-style posters can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
