Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13626600779, UPC 469664163429, is listed in Black and size L. This 16" x 20" historic print shows Speaker of the House Bankhead bidding goodbye to fellow members of Congress in Washington, D.C., on Aug 21, after the first sessions of the 75th Congress. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for reproduction.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796, enabling inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations.

The company's range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
