Snapshots of the Past 1814 Prison Wall Art L sku-13237716200

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print shows the South East View of New-York State Prison from 1814. It measures 16" x 20" and is listed in Black, size L, as sku-13237716200 (UPC 466354548825). The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives as home decor.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that work laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks, materials intended to last for generations.

The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
