Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Black sku-13263624511

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L in Black, reproduces a 1957 photograph of a girl soothing her kitten in the ruins of her tornado-damaged home in Hickman Mills, Missouri. The print measures 16" x 20". The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural heritage.

The company's other subjects include holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts. UPC 468601212749; sku-13263624511.
