No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past offers a Black, size L Wall Art reproduction of “Some account of some of the bloody deeds of General Jackson,” measuring 16" x 20". The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it states that it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions.
Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, developed in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.
In 1989, the Library of Congress began the American Memory pilot project, which laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.
The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts. SKU sku-13244852737; UPC 463956260650.
