The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions using archival paper and pigmented inks. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796, making inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 to digitize selected collections about American cultural history.

The company also offers retro posters, including holiday images and early aerial views of cities, for display or as gifts.
