Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13242713553 Print

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print shows the shipping and wrapping room at Gordon Pagel Baking Co. The Black, size L reproduction measures 16" x 20" and belongs to a range of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history.

These reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
