Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13269213942

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13269213942, UPC 465382692708, is a Black print in size L. The historic Louisiana Purchase Exposition fireworks image measures 16" x 20". The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The company's collection also includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
