Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art Print | sku-13268469870

Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art in Black (SKU sku-13268469870; UPC 469504156000) depicts Roosevelt buying Red Cross Seals on 12/3/23. The historic print measures 16 x 20 inches. The company restores maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives for home display. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The collection includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
