Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13272668255

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L reproduction of the historic Riflemens Grand March print for the Petersburg [Va.] Riflemen, measuring 16" x 20". The company restores maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives and prints reproductions on archival paper with pigmented inks, intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display or gifts. SKU sku-13272668255; UPC 468826457192.
