The company makes reproductions from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it describes itself as the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. It reports over 200 bookstore and retail buyers, along with tens of thousands of online customers, and says it was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history. The company's other reproductions include historical maps, photographs, holiday posters and early aerial city views.
