Snapshots of the Past Wall Art: a Black, size L reproduction print of the Quigley Twin House ironwork at 258 Congress Street, Mobile, Mobile County, AL. The print measures 16 x 20 inches. SKU sku-13254601721; UPC 461593813482. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives on fine art and archival paper.

It says prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, plus tens of thousands of online customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The company's other suggested display or gift subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for a home, study or workplace.
