Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L print sku-13603672696

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art, size L (sku-13603672696; UPC 468318568160), reproduces a print of Professor William W. Keen's clinic at Jefferson Medical College Hospital dated December 10, 1902. The print measures 16" x 20" and shows surgeons around a person on an operating table, with spectators.

Snapshots of the Past makes reproductions from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks. Founded in 2001, the company says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 to digitize selected collections.

The company's range also includes historical maps, photos, holiday posters and early aerial views of cities.
