Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13233271648

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, is a Black 16" x 20" reproduction of a print showing President Garfield in a reviewing stand at inauguration ceremonies on March 4, 1881. Its identifiers are sku-13233271648 and UPC 465154756201. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced posters possible.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, begun in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural heritage. The company's other subjects include holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
