Snapshots of the Past Posters in Black, size L, are listed as sku-13267217702, UPC 462736401900. This 16 x 20 reproduction of W. Clark Noble's "Preparedness" is dated 8/25/[24]. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from the Library of Congress archives for home decor.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced posters inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper, including paper from respected brands.

Archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to let the prints last for generations. The collection includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The retro-style prints can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts.
