Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art Print sku-13626467958

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art print, size L, measures 16" x 20". SKU sku-13626467958; UPC 467686276066. The historic image shows police struggling with an African American female civil rights protester reacting to the death of fellow demonstrator and minister Bruce Klunder, who was struck and killed at the scene.

The print is a reproduction restored from the Library of Congress archives, made with archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Snapshots of the Past was founded in 2001 and was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced posters inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage.

The brand also offers historic maps, photos and posters, including holiday designs and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display or gifts.
