Snapshots of the Past Petersburg Posters L sku-13260007132

Snapshots of the Past Posters, sku-13260007132, UPC 463199129530, is a Black, size L reproduction print showing a view of Petersburg, Virginia, from across the Appomattox River. It measures 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for home decor and makes reproductions with archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, offered for display at home or work or as gifts.
