Snapshots of the Past restores maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass production of prints, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The brand also offers historical posters, including old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day designs and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. SKU: sku-13245508350. UPC: 462413626213.
