Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13261260751

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13261260751, is a Black, size L reproduction print showing officers' quarters at Fort Sedgwick in Petersburg, Virginia. It measures 16" x 20". UPC: 469069605104. The company makes historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass-produced posters, was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history. The company's historical prints are offered as home, study or workplace decor and as gifts.
