Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art sku-13257020819 Print

Snapshots of the Past sku-13257020819, UPC 468174555809, is Black Wall Art in size L. This 16" x 20" historical print shows chevaux-de-frise in front of Fort Sedgwick in Petersburg, Virginia. The company reproduces maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history. The company's reproductions also include old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts.
