Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproductions. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural history. The company's other reproductions include historical maps, photos, holiday posters and early aerial views of cities.
