Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Black L sku-13233221515

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art, size L, sku-13233221515, is a 16" x 20" reproduction of a Washington, D.C., print dated Jan. 4 about the payment of a soldiers' bonus being partly blamed for a business recession. UPC: 466522957299. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range also includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
