The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives and makes reproductions on fine-art archival paper with pigmented inks, intended to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The seller also suggests retro posters, including holiday images and early aerial views of cities, as decor or gifts.
