Lithography, a printing technique that enabled inexpensive mass production of posters, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history.

The company's retro prints include holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. They can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
