Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13272618579

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, "On pouvair compter ces calmars par millions," is a Black print in size L, measuring 16" x 20". The company makes restored reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

The source also describes lithography, invented in 1796, as a step toward inexpensive mass-produced posters. A Library of Congress pilot called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history.

The company's range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts. SKU sku-13272618579; UPC 462236297515.
