Founded in 2001, it describes itself as the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. The source also notes that lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of posters possible. A Library of Congress pilot called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The range includes historical posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, intended for display at home or work or as gifts.
