Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art Print sku-13227217073

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, sku-13227217073, UPC 463049797612, is a 16 x 20 print of the Odd Fellow's orphans' home in Lincoln, Ill. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks. The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
