Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13243001478

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, in Black, sku-13243001478, UPC 463595404675, is a historic print titled "Newell's oscillating sofa, table, and couch for vessels" in a 16" x 20" format. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos, and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced posters possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; the National Digital Library Program, which digitizes selected collections documenting American cultural heritage, began in 1995. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
