Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L, Coty sku-13252473770

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, Black, size L (sku-13252473770; UPC 462577923876), depicts the Coty Building at the New York World's Fair. The historic print measures 16 x 20 inches. The company, founded in 2001, makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

It was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints, and its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography was invented in 1796, making inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks, materials intended to help prints last for generations.

The range includes holiday posters, early aerial views of major cities and other retro-style prints for display or gifts.
