Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, features a 16 x 20 historic print of New Stockton Villa in Cape May, New Jersey. SKU sku-13270263087; UPC 461364621353. The brand makes restored reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, was among the printing developments that made inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing American cultural history.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival papers from respected brands. Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can be enjoyed for a lifetime and passed on. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

Retro-style prints can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
