Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13341060426

Snapshots of the Past sku-13341060426 (UPC 464410052774) is a Black, size L Wall Art reproduction print measuring 16 x 20 inches. It depicts the railroad repair yard shed at the Naval Supply Annex in Stockton, northwest of the intersection of Ellsberg Drive and Rail Yard in San Joaquin County, California.

The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history.

These reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The company's other subjects include old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, offered for display or as gifts.
