Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, SKU sku-13253123948, UPC 465913124791. This 16" x 20" historic print shows Mrs. Jane Newton, her husband Herbert Newton and a child standing in a full-length portrait. The company restores maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives for reproduction on fine-art archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography was invented in 1796, making inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The company's reproductions are made for long-term display and can be passed down.

Its range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work, or as gifts.
