Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13288658406, is a Black size L reproduction print (UPC 469441584300). The 16 x 20 print depicts Mrs. Helen Ripley comforting her sister, Mrs. Granville Fortescue, as Fortescue awaits trial for the murder of Joseph Kahahawai in Honolulu, Hawaii. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.

The reproduction uses fine-art and archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.
