Snapshots of the Past Historic Posters L sku-13242818379
No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past offers historical maps, photos and prints reproduced from Library of Congress archives. This Black, size L item is a 16 x 20 historic print of Mrs. Fiske as Mary of Magdala, by Ernest Haskell. The company was founded in 2001 and was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.
Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.
The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival papers and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.
The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, along with early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts. Listed under Posters; UPC 468347860716; sku-13242818379.
