Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, SKU sku-13241204756, UPC 462049658602. This Black, size L reproduction print depicts the Michigan School of Mines (Michigan Technological University) in Houghton, Michigan, at 16" x 20". The company produces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of Internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage.

The company's retro-style prints also include holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and are offered as home or workplace décor and gifts.
